OFFICE21 auf der CeBIT 2009

Joint research project »OFFICE 21«

In Germany more than forty percent of the working population work in an office environment. Whether stationary in an office, their own organisation, at home or mobile, travelling from place to place – office work, especially in the form of complex knowledge work is considered to be the key for innovation, productivity and business success.
The greater aim of the joint research project »OFFICE 21®« is to design office and knowledge work sustainably productive. Our studies show that there is a huge potential for optimisation.
How do office processes and knowledge work processes have to be designed in order to support performance and creativity of employees? Which spatial and technological infrastructures support this? Which developments are necessary to anticipate and to implement future-proof solutions?
We research these questions together with our partner companies. We pay attention to integrating the three perspectives well-balanced: profitability, needs of the employees and the environmental effect.
»OFFICE 21®« stands for joint research – with the partner structure we overcome branch borders between real estate industry, supplier of office equipment or between the suppliers of information and communication technologies. Operator companies, who want to use the potentials of a demand-orientated work and office design in an early stage round the joint research off and provide a high practice-orientation of the developed solutions.
